Socratic Discussions (for higher order questioning - increased DOK)

Socratic sentence starters (a printable PDF handout that students may use during class discussions and in writing.  The handout promotes complete sentences, academic language, and improved depth of knowledge).  This is more suitable for the intermediate teachers, but could probably be modified for upper primary.

Socratic discussion "Inner-Outer Circle" seating chart.  This activity would work well with the above handout (Socratic Sentence Starters).  The instructor would need to model this and help the students with their research before a discussion could be initiated.  Again, this is for intermediate teacher use.
